• AFTER MATTER Installation

AFTER MATTER explores how cellulose fibers from fashion waste streams can be utilized for interior spatial settings in retail design or installations. With textile production generating 1.2 billion metric tons of CO2 annually and over 100 million tons of waste, the project addresses overproduction and missed opportunities for material recovery.

A craft manifesto, an exploration of the tensions between speed and slowness, automation and handwork, synthetic and natural. It shows the value of craft as a transformative practice, celebrating the value of imperfection in materials and restoring value to overlooked handmade processes.

Within the project, ancient papermaking techniques are used to transform discarded cotton and linen fabric into translucent, structural forms—merging function with artistic expression, and highlighting creative opportunities for a more circular and poetic approach to making.
